WHAT IS A CACAO CEREMONY?

Cacao actually translates to “heart blood” which is why it is said to be a medicine of the heart and/or heart-opening. As you tune into this beautiful, feminine medicine during a ceremony, you are tuning into your heart chakra, gently opening it up to feel into the deep wisdom that resides there. Sitting in ceremony is an opportunity for you to receive, to create space in your whole being and sacred time to be with yourself. This is a time for tapping into your true and authentic self, listening to the heart’s whispers, feeling love, connection and harmony.

This sacred plant has been used ceremonially for thousands of years by the Mayans for spiritual and medicinal purposes; as you sip on this medicine, you open yourself up to receive the ancient wisdom of the plant. It’s all totally legal and won’t induce a hallucinogenic effect like other plant medicines; it’s much more gentle on the body, the heart, and the mind. It brings you into a place of deep peace, connection, and unconditional love.

In Jo's ceremony spaces she invites receivers to do some self-enquiry; to sit and tune-in to their hearts as we open up space together in a Shamanic ceremony. She uses music as a way to assist the journey; sometimes it’s meditative, and other times it’s expressive, depending on the group. Together she will weave our energies in the space and call upon support from all of the Wisdom Keepers, Guides, and Great Spirit. Jo is honoured to bring the lineage through from the Andes into the hearts and lives of those who don’t otherwise have access to these places.

CONSIDERATIONS & CONTRAINDICATIONS

• Cacao contains theobromine which stimulates the system much in the same way as caffeine can. If you have a strong sensitivity to caffeine then please consult with us and we will discuss if you can still participate and have a very low dosage.

• Cacao can react with anti depressants causing headaches so please let us know if you are on any medication & we may lower the dose for you.
