SMOOTHIE BOWL OF DREAMS

Anyone who knows me will know how much I love a #smoothiebowl.



These are very different to your average drinkable liquid #smoothies - I make them nice and thick, packed full of #protein, #veggies, #healthyfats and #superfoods to nourish you and keep you full for the morning.


Top tips for smoothies: don’t use too much #fruit! A handful of #berries is enough! Avoid too many bananas and tropical fruits daily as they are higher in fructose or fruit sugar. But if you do use them combat the glucose spike with healthy fats like avocado, chia or flax seeds or almond butter and a great #plantbased pea protein powder like @nuzest_europe


You can even make them more of a powerhouse by adding in cooked and cooled steamed sweet potato, courgette or cauliflower - sounds odd I know but i promise you, you wont taste the extra veg, but it makes the smoothie even creamier - you can just make extra the night before at dinner and chuck it into the blender in the morning.

Top with berries & lots of crunch and don’t forget the green leaves like #kale and #spinach and you’ve got yourself a power house #breakfast right there.


Prep time: 10 mins

INGREDIENTS 🍓baby spinach or kale or watercress & celery (can literally throw in any veg or leaves)

🍓strawberries or blueberries or blackberries or raspberries

🍓quarter of a thumb of fresh ginger and/or turmeric

🍓half avocado for healthy fats (or tbsp chia seeds, or freshly ground flax seeds or hemp seeds or almond butter)

🍓 cooked and cooled sweet potato (or courgette/cauliflower/carrot)

🍓200ml hemp milk (or coconut or almond - make sure unsweetened)

🍓 @nuzest_europe 2 scoops vanilla protein powder

🍓 @kikihealth natures organic superfood powder - 1 tsp

🍓 @haskapa berry powder packed full of anthocyanins - 1 tsp

🍓@planetpaleo collagen to nourish gut and joints - 1 tbsp

🍓 @kikihealth reishi chaga blend for some medicinal mushroom magic

🍓topped with berries, crunchy bee polllen, cacao nibs, coconut flakes and hemp seeds.

METHOD

1. Put everything into a blender and blend!

2. Pour into a bowl and top with chopped fruit and crunchy ingredients

3. Enjoy with love!


NB if time is tight in the morning before work, you can pre chop the veg and fruit and package it up in little freezer bags and just throw it in in the morning for an even quicker smoothie bowl. Any of the veg can be frozen and so can the avocado, if its frozen it makes it more of a nice cream texture which is even yummier.
